okay, so I'm sitting in the living room with my three year old in the dark. He is watching his bedtime tv show and jumping up and down, when we hear one of the pictures from the shelf fall down. Thinking it was the vibrations from him jumping my son goes over to put the picture back. such a thoughtful helpful three year old.. He goes to sit down, I get up to put something in the kitchen turning the light in the living room on as I leave.
We both hear the picture frame fall down again, so my son goes to put it back. Suddenly he appears in the doorway of the living room holding my ghost corn Phantom and goes, "Look, snake!!" I was so shocked to see him holding Phantom that I didn't even grab the camera until after I had taken the snake from him. Funny part was, my son was holding Phantom between mid body and tail and Phantom was almost as long as my son is tall, and my son had his arm up over his head.
Here are two pictures of my son holding him and pointing to where he found the snake. I'm glad he was found and that my dog didn't get a hold of him. As for how he got out of his tub, the one latch was open but I am mystified as to how that latch was open to begin with. I am always checking the latches to make sure they are closed.
I am just so proud of my little herper, although I am amazed that he picked him up and didn't just yell for me. He was not afraid and held him like he's been doing it all his life. Future herper in training.
This shelf unit is on one side of a fire place and the racks and tubs for the snakes are on the other side of the fire place. He didn't go far, but I'm glad he was found. He is my oldest snake as well, so I would not have been happy if anything would have happened to him.
Here he is pointing to where he found Phantom.
Thanx for looking and enjoy.
