I use the Ranco and have been happy with it so far...Hope to grow up to a Herpstat in the distant future...

yea the herpstat pro is about the cheapest route.
4 rancos wired would run you around 320 without shipping
1 herpstat pro $315.00 from the beanfarm without shipping

    Re: thermostat

Not sure what you mean by "a constant power source"?

They all need to plugged in and running 24/7... or else you cannot keep your temps constant. That is the whole point to a T-stat.

I think Kaorte had some great advice. Buy a cheapie, plug all 3 into it and just dim the fourth one.

They are designed to accept certains amounts of wattage, you are not going to exceed that with 4 enclosures.

    Re: thermostat

I think Bruce is right... but you could have different temperatures in different enclosures, even if they're set up the same. I have a divided AP cage with the EXACT same setup on both sides, yet temperatures differ. It would be a far greater difference with that caging system of yours.

    Re: thermostat

i was thinking of getting 2 for now cause im not gonna use the top cage for a while cause my baby girl is still way to small for that size and doing what bruce said and get a dimmer for the bottom one is that what he meant cause the bottom one has the least amount of change with temp with the increase of room temp. thats where im having my problem room temp gets to high and cage gets to hot

    thanks guys
