Question Another YellowBelly or Normal Question.

Hello, i read thru the "Hunter guide to morph" but i still couldnt find a definite answer.

what makes me think its a YB, is because of the creeping yellow on the side, the belly is not clear, which make me doubtful or is that consider a clear belly?

    anyway, here goes the picture..

Thats a normal... sorry to say.

Nice snake, but not a YB.

Many if not most pythons have that creeping yellow... it is very distinct in a YB and once you've seen a few you can spot it right away.

    Bruce.

Compare these belly pics to yours... it will give you an idea.

    1st... my Yellowbelly.

2nd... a couple of my normals

Re: Another YellowBelly or Normal Question.

Nice looking snake, but not a YB.

One of the things I've noticed about all of our YBs, is that none of them have bright white edging on the side panels (alien faces) like yours does. It's usually more of a yellow or gold color when they're young, fading to a cream or tan color as they mature. There may be exceptions, but none I've seen myself.

I'll post a few pics of some of ours to show you what I'm referring to. I'll also post a few belly shots to illustrate the difference there. I hope this will help you.

I'm Pretty sure that YB's have a clear belly with no speckling. I would say its defiantly Normal. Although not all normals have speckling...

You're right. They've got a (sorry, I'm going to describe this terribly) kind of checker pattern/speckling on the edges, not the belly itself. I guess still on their bellies, but not in the middle, in between this pattern is a nice clean belly...Bruce's picture shows it perfectly.

Louis, that little one is SWEET. Everyone always posts pics of their partially striped Balls, but never the polka dotted ones like yours. I really like the dotted look, and the belly is text book.
