Re: Need pics of clutches with two fathers

Well you do get hets... its just that some hets show that they are het (Fires, Pastels, Cinnamons, etc), others will hide it (Albinos, Hypos, Pieds, etc).

That's the difference between Co-Doms and Doms (Fires, Pastels, Cinnamons, etc / Pinstripe, Spider, etc) and Recessives (albinos, Hypos, Pieds, etc).

Now the difference between Co-Doms and Doms is that when a Co-Dom has 2 genes telling it to have that trait it will look different (usually referred to as a Super (Fires/Black Eyed Leucistics, Pastels/Super Pastels, Yellow Belly/Ivory, etc) while a Dom can have 2 of the gene telling it to be Dom and it will look no different from if it had 1 gene telling it to be Dom (Spiders and Pinstripes).

Biology class usually covers this, but a lot of people don't pay attention/don't remember/never take the class, lol. But here is a nice article that will cover the basics for you

Fire & cinnamon daddy x normal female, some side info; the cinnamon had many compualtions with the female starting from november till january. Fire had only 1or2 copulations at the end of the season (january - february).
Clutch was 4 fires, 1 cinnamon and 2 normals.

Only been the snake thing for less than a year so I dont know all this, any links or anything would be great

Re: Need pics of clutches with two fathers

This clutch was from a Butter/Bee X Yellow Belly. Each male had three visually confirmed locks with the female. A few were within days of each other.

While females can retain sperm for up to a year, I suspect that breeding males back to back on a female will increase the odds for a split clutch. My five split clutches last season ALL had males "tag-teaming" the female.

1.0 BUTTER BELLY (first ever )
    .1 BUMBLE BELLY
    .1 PASTEL YELLOW BELLY
    .1 SPIDER YELLOW BELLY
    .1 BUTTER

There was one normal boy who was nudged out of the picture by his sibs.

I have to say thanks also, learn something new everyday, Ive never done so much research my whole life, who would of known snakes would have done it. I just went to school for the girls. If only my teachers could see me researching now, it would be jaw-dropping for them. lol

That is the Butter Belly. I will be posting some updated pictures this week. He is around 400 grams and will be breeding some girls in March -- I hope!

He keeps getting better with every shed!!
