cheap foliage from wal-mart is the way to go fyi! $3 for 5 feet of vine is pretty darn good.

Once you get bit by the crestie bug, it'll keep growing on you.

I've been bit hard, and will likely be overrun with offspring from my two couples as soon as the weather warms up and the one girl comes out of winter cooling, the other needs to put on weight probably for another month or two.. should be up to breeding weight soon

That's all I need, another animal addiction. I'm sure hubby will be thrilled. Good luck with your breeding!

Acceptance is a sign that you are about to get ALOT more!

Yup once you've been bitten by the Ciliatus bug theres no going back!

I've been keeping crested geckos for close to 10 Years and at anygiven time have around 3dozen,Have hatched 100's and it all started with a 1.2

I feed 100% Crested Gecko Diet. Don;t know what it is called... comes in a foil bag.... got it from the breeder.

I keep my hatchlings in a community set up(of similar size geckos) Usually I use a 12x12x18 Exoterra or smaller. The concern really isnt about the geckos falling(they live in trees & can take a drop) but rather them being able to find the food. The foil bag is Repashy Crested gecko diet and is a complet diet.Meaning you don't have to feed insects,Though its fun to watch (they're like little dinosaurs!)

I don't know if this is against the rules or not but Allen Repashy has his own Forums that pretty much has the most Knowlegable Crested people around.Everyone is very friendly there and always willing to answers some questions.(not that I'm saying people here are not)

Good tip on the wal-mart thing!
I may just have to check that out.
I usually go by 35g+ as a breedable weight,30-32g if you have a tailess Female.Males can be bred at a smaller size.

Especially when I saw this little love for sale. I love anything lavender, and those little freckles are adorable. I'll be picking him/her up soon, once I get a cage set up.

(pic not taken by me, but by the breeder)

My question is regarding the caging. I am thinking of going with an exo-terra 18x18x24. From the caresheets I've read, this should be okay for one gecko? Paper towel substrate, daily mistings, CGD/fresh fruits/occasional crickets, plants to climb and hide in, and a small humid hide.. What am I missing?
She is lovely! I love the speckles.
    Who is the breeder?

    Re: Okay, I give in

His name is Matt, and he lives in Ohio. He has a few others that look similar to this one in an ad on fauna if you're interested. I haven't met him yet, but he seems like a really nice guy.

Thanks for the forum link! I love to sit and read through forums in my spare time and keep notes in a notebook I have here on my desk so I don't forget stuff. It's also handy for useful tips I might be able to use in the future.

I've got a critter keeper and will be making a trip to ac moore with my 30% off my entire order coupon to see if I can find some nice plants.

    Re: Okay, I give in

I go to the local craft store for my vines. I get like 5 foot long vines for a few bucks. Best time is after a holiday when it goes on clearance. can get them for 1.00 a section. Then I just cut to the desired length and toss out and replace every couple weeks.
    Very cute addition
