A sad day
I have been planning for months to add a pair of het albinos to my life. My husband said today that I can't get them
On top of that a person who owed me money, (the money I was going to use to get my new snakes) Well they got paied and skipped town. Not a great loss on that person. But for my husband to take away the only thing I have been looking forward to for so long, it hurts.
He just told me that MABY in the next year or two I may be able to get them. He wants to move as soon as we get our taxes done. But there is no solid plan.

That sucks hun. Hopefully he will see that it means alot to you and will let you have them. Did he give you a reason why you can not have them? Financial reasons or he just does not want that many??? I do not want your personal life story but it helps if he gives you a reason and does not treat you like a child.

I don't know if it is a space issue, but het albinos aren't very expensive. I got my baby girl for $100 from a reputable breeder. & the boys are $50 from the same breeder.

Why does he want to move so bad???
How long have you lived where you are at?
Is it that he wants to better yalls life or just becasue he wants a change of scenery?

Re: A sad day
he hates this place, the town full of stuck up people, the lac of decent afordable housing, the lac of decent jobs, and the way you are held responsible for the actions of your parents/other older family. (the thing I hate most is how everyone thinks having a pet snake makes you EVIL )
Yah around here your family name is everything.
I hate it too, but even with our tax money it will not be enouph to move out of state, maby buy a cheap "mobile home" but that would be as far as we would go.
I'm not happy here, but it is my home now. Every other place I can think of will cost us way more than staying here.
He wants to go south, I want to go north (I hate the realy hot weather, and seems that there are more exotic animal laws in the hotter climates)
If I had a job waiting, or he did, and we had someplace to live I would move in a heartbeat.
I figure if we are stuck here I will make the best of it.
Lived in this apt for 2 years, but have moved around this area for the last 7, he has lived around here his whole life.

I feel for you, but I also thank god for no husband, I have to side with him on those issues though, it's tough in a small town, yall should move east, start fresh, continue to love each other and make new beginnings.

Not all warm weather states have strict animal laws! Yes in general, the midwest has the most relaxed laws on exotic animals. IMO though, the east and west coasts seem to have the strictest laws, be they state laws or more local laws, prohibiting certain exotics.
I grew up in Houston, TX and you could have just about any creature you want there. You need permits for hots though and some other endangered exotics, but you CAN get the permits. However, constrictors and native reptiles are no problem (except possibly american gators.. I never looked up the state and local laws regarding those). Plenty of places in warm weather allow the exotics you're interested in.
Just a heads up if you do end up going south!
