Re: What do you do for a Job.

Curently unemplyed, laid off because business was too slow. now my job is looking for a job.
I was a housekeeper, before that for 10 years I worked in the food sevice industry, at every fast food place you can think of. I hated it! then I made more doing housekeeping, but now I'm sittin on my butt waiting fo at least one call from the 30+ apps I put in in the last month.
Also I breed snake food, I enjoy that
Me and my hubby make a few bucks with some on line stuff.

I would make my hubby do it, but he won't because he knows how much i hated it. I need to find a job that lets me be ummmmm, well I don't know how to put it nicely, so I'll just let everyone else figure it out.

It depends on the company. But some of the better ones start off between 10 and 12 an hour.

Offshore is better in all respects, if you are willing to travel. I believe the food guys in the gulf of Mexico are making about 14 an hour, working 164 hours in two weeks, then having two weeks off.

I am not sure how travel goes for the food service guys. But me starting off as a normal roughneck I will be starting at 19 an hour, and they pay my airfare too and from the rig (from NC to the gulf coast).
