Re: Why reptiles?
I kind of don't like dogs or cats, especially cats, because I have horrible allergies. I can tolerate living with dogs, but cats are out of the question. This, and probably because I was interested in "exotic" pets since I was a child, we have had a turtle, iguana, and a frog. I don't know why snakes in particular, it was kind of a random idea at the moment, but once I started researching everything about them I became fascinated.

LOL good answer .
For me it's that when I was a kid I used to love going out and finding all sorts of reptiles and amphibians in the swamps and creeks behind my house. Also when I got out of the Army I was in an extreme amount of pain due to a few medical conditions which thankfully have now been almost completely taken care of and I needed a companion animal that wouldn't jump all over the place and that I could just sit with and enjoy. So I got my first BP girl Selene. It was a great choice and one I would make again in a heartbeat. Now I've got 8 ball pythons, 6 corns, 3 hognoses and 2 kings! I couldn't be happier. I love my collection and they've actually helped me through some real tough times.

Why reptiles?
Why not?
Used to bring home buckets full of slimy things as a child, and a few not so slimy. Was never allowed to keep any. When My little girl said she wanted a lizard, we went hunting for something that would fit us. We came home with our BP. Getting more soon
The movement, the feel, the look, and the ease of care.
plus my bp doesn't piddle on my carpet and scratch me and lick my face after eating her own poo. (and she does not stink, I have to give my pups a bath every 3-4 days so they don't stink)

Well, they have so many nice colors. I do like cattle better though.

Re: Why reptiles?
how can you like something that stares at grass all day and finally decides to eat it more?
