Id would also look into the type of bedding he uses. I wont trust any bedding coming from homedepot especially when made for gardening and has who knows what in it. Ask him DBD why he also changed that bedding to what looks like bed-a-beast in the sick video in the males tank.

Yea, when i first saw the video i saw the bag, and i could of swore i saw the word blend on it. I asked him to make sure it said 100% cypress and didn't say that it was blended with cedar or pine. He said he checked the bag and it ddn't contain anything but cypress. I'll ask him if he's using bed-a-beast. Is bed-a-beast good or bad?

Re: Watch Where You Buy Your Animals From!

The bag of Cypress obviously said Blended on it. They generally don't say what exactly it's blended with though. But I think they're also not healthy like, chemical-wise? Not sure though. I haven't looked into Cypress much, but I know for sure you don't want to buy ANYTHING from Home Depot or garden centers unless it says 100% cypress and doesn't say blend on it anywhere.
That was most likely the problem right there =[ Plus, the temps could've been way too high, the humidity too low. Alot of things could have been wrong with the husbandry to make these snakes so sick so quickly. Blood Pythons aren't forgiving like Ball's are. And they can't take the same temps/humidity levels as Ball's either.

On another note, I found it really funny that he called the first one a male, then pointed out the female sign on it and still said "see it's a male" LOL

But I didn't find it funny that he pretty much treated them like crocs. And what was up with that metal hanger? They're babies for christs sake it's not like a bite would hurt. And if the one does live, he needs to start handling it..like, HANDling it. The only way to make sure a Blood Python grows up calm and docile is to be sure it's used to being HANDled. Like, NO wires? -.-

Sucks that the one snake died. He needs to make sure his other animals aren't sick, since he didn't quarantine.

Re: Watch Where You Buy Your Animals From!

We learned the hard way! We bought a few normal females off Craigslist, and one had a RI... poor thing. That snake spread it around... we have spent hundreds of dollars to learn the lessons of 1) choosing a healthy animal and 2) quarantine!!!
