Rely on the accurite reading, not the t-stat. There are many reasons why t-stats read a lot lower or higher than the thermometer, and it happens quite often. The T-stat should never be used as a thermometer as well, since the probe should not be inside the cage but directly on the heat source.
Also, if you have one, I would strongly recommend using a temp gun to confirm the actual temperature and base all settings on that. If not, then it would be a good thing to purchase.![]()
