u dont see anything wrong with stuffing a living creature down the throat of a big snake ??.... for 1. its quite possible that the chick could do some pretty heffty damage to the snake on the way down 2. its just striaght up cruel ! dude whats wrong with you ???

There's worst things to worry about.

With all due respect.
There is no respectful reason to have the animal alive during that process. As keepers, we care for our animals, including our feeders that we want to make sure go as humanely as possible. When feeding a live pinky, and they swallow it live, yes it goes through a similar process, but the animal is much too young to slightly comprehend what is happening, and it's eyes are closed. This is a clear example of someone who enjoys watching snakes eat, to see the other animal suffer.

Also, snakes do constrict their prey for a reason, and doing something like this is dangerous and wrong. If someone did the same thing with a rat, it would be just as wrong and even more dangerous because the rat would probably bite the snake.

There are times when snakes don't constrict.

As someone who keeps a large constrictor, you should.

Fish & Wildlife sees something like that, they will push more to get large constrictors banned throughout the nation. They will assume people simply cannot properly take care of them. That means your snake will become illegal and you will have to surrender it.

See anything wrong with it now?

This video did not take place in our country. I doubt this single video will do anything. There's videos of about every other pet doing something one could consider horrible.

For the record, I think its pretty stupid and immature, but as someone who kills several small furry animals every week, like most other people here, I can step back and see a video of a snake eating something small and furry and not feel too bad about it.

Also, to everyone who thinks it is videos like these that are responsible for the world's crappy view on our hobby, take a look on youtube for ANY video of ANY snake eating ANY animal, and view the comments. The "world" does not make any type of distinction whatsoever between that video and other videos, and probably never will.

A.) Swallowing a live animal that was placed in its mouth by someone.

I sure think they do. When I look at videos of people feeding live rodents, you'll get a few people saying stuff like "You sick :cens0r:". Then I looked at the comments for this video. It was more like "YOU SICK ! I HOPE YOU DIE YOU "

If you look at the profile of the person who posted the video on youtube, it says he's from Mexico.

Many on this site have fed live mice. Why aren't you complaining about that? They are bit with hundreds of sharp teeth, then constricted so hard that they suffocate.

Is that not suffering?

Also, what did you want that guy to do? Yank the chick out of the snakes mouth? He could risk getting bit, which would bring worst news to our hobby.
I'm pretty sure he wasn't expecting the snake to eat the chick that way.

There is a HUGE difference.

What we do:
*Drop the rodent in the cage or offer by forceps and let the snake do its thing

What he did:
*Stuff a live chick into the snakes mouth while it was in the process of swallowing a rat.

Did you even think about what could have happened? Such as the chick pecking/biting the snake on the way down possible seriously injuring it?

Also, what did you want that guy to do? Yank the chick out of the snakes mouth? He could risk getting bit, which would bring worst news to our hobby.

He should have never placed it in there. He could have gotten bit shoving the chick in there.

Did you not see the rats tail in the beginning of the video? It was CLEARLY in the process of swallowing a rat when he placed the chick in there.
