    Here is the most recent shot of her. I think this was taken over the summer. She is still a great snake and tame as a kitten.

    Well Kat, it's not HOT pink, but it is pink and blue.

    And what color would you say this one is?

    how about this one?

    and green base color? I see mostly yellow with blue, green, and white speckles.

    I do understand what you are saying, but to say all chondros have a green base color, I disagree. If you could see all the amazing chondros in peoples' collections..........

    I never see anyone handling them, and they seem to be more fragile than some other reptiles. For someone who isn't well versed in GTPs, they don't jump out as a fun, easy to take care of pet, which is what I look for most in a pet snake. Those impressions could be entirely wrong of course! All I know is that when I was looking at what kind of snake to get first, I read a care sheet that specifically said that GTPs really shouldn't be handled much, and to think of them as aquarium fish, and that was that and I let them be. They sure are just about the prettiest snake out there though!

    I think it all depends on the person and the chondro. I think the best reason you don't see pics of people holding them is, they look so much better in their sitting position on a perch. The fragile period is during the first year when they are so tiny. As they get older, they can be held and can be quite calm. I have animals that I take to educational exibits and let children handle.
    Here are some of mine being held.

    I have some of my 7 year old cousin holding one of my males. I'll have to search for it and I'll post it too.

    Here is one of the man himself, Rico Walder, holding one of his sub-adult emeralds.

    and another goofy guy holding the same one.

    I'll look for the others.....and maybe take some new ones.

    Click on my guy "midori" he seems to almost enjoy being held. He's great! Biaks get the worst wrap but I've seen some of those be pretty gentle. Sorongs, Aru, and Jaya (mainland) seem to be the most easy going (there are always exceptions.)

    I love Ricos "little boy" grin. He holds an amazing passion for what he does and it really shows in his animals and personality.

    @mainbutter
    A typical "green one" being held by my son (1st pic) and by me. This was the 1st
    handling at around 14 months. No bites.
