    Beautiful and gorgeous Bci!!!!
Here's a link to Reptile Basics. Rich owns the business and he is a really great guy with very reliable and sturdy products and awesome customer service. He sells thermostats, cages, RHP's, flex, cages, racks, etc.
Here's the link to his thermostat page: http://www.reptilebasics.com/Thermostats-p-1-c-250.html.

I would not mess around with a dimmer at all-- go directly to a thermostat.

    As for humidity.

Add a deep bowl that can sit directly on top of the UTH. It will evaporate faster and create more humidity. Keep in mind this is separate from the drinking bowl that you should keep on the cool side. I use a cool whip container it's deep enough I can mostly bury it with bedding and have it sit directly on the UTH.

Also you can cover most of the top with foil to keep the humidity in.

    How big is your setup?

I keep my baby boa in a 40gal breeder (a little big but this way she has room to grow) and I need 3/4 foil lid, 3 waterbowls, a UTH and a CHE (ceramic heat emmitter) to keep the humidity and heat right.

    Keep us posted and welcome!

My house? ... 13 snakes, 3 geckos, a tarantula, a boyfriend, a roommate (yes the roommate and boyfriend make the "animals" list), 3 cats, a roach colony and don't ask me to count the rodents.

Re: Looks like I am here!

I did get a deeper bowl this evening ... tomorrow I will move it closer to the UTH ... the set up for now is a 50 gallon tank ... it's what I had and had space for ... in the next few weeks we will be rearranging the house a bit ... and probably will get the bigger tank out of storage. he/she is already about 5 feet long... I don't know how old he is.

There is so much to know, I am really trying to learn on the fly here...
