    Possible tattoo - need ideas

Hey everybody ... So three weeks ago my girlfriend and I split up. Honestly I am not entirely sure what caused her to change her mind about being in a relationship with me. I thought things were going wonderfully and I had actually even bought a ring but hadn't given it to her yet. Needless to say I have been a little distraught and just been tring to keep up with school and the animals. The thought of getting a tattoo has crossed my mind recently. Something that says or symbolizes remembrance. I want to remember the happiness, my first love, my mistakes, and my faith that God has a plan for us. I want something small and probably in a place that I could cover up easily for interviews and such. Does anybody have any thoughts or ideas? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and love.

A great big heart with a dagger through it. Right in the middle of your chest.

Or, wait at LEAST a couple of months before you add art work that may well lose some signifigance in the coming years.

    Bummer about the chick though.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Ha! Got a pretty good chuckle out of that. Yes I am planning on waiting 6 months or so to see how I feel about it then. I'm leaning in the direction of a cross with the word remember worked into or around it somehow.

So this chick dumps you for no apparant reason when things seem to be going wonderfly... and your response to that is to declair that god has a plan for the two of you.... and that you should get a tattoo in rememberence of your happiness and love?????

Dude, not trying to sound like a jerk, but PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER! You sound like one of those crazy stalker wack-jobs! Forget the tatoo. Go out and get yourself some strange... Don't even talk to this chick any more. In time you will clearly understand why she ran away when everything was "going wonderfly" in the relationship. Use that new knowledge and understanding towards the new chick. Leave this old one alone!

Now is probably the wrong time to be getting a tattoo. I would wait, it's not a decision that can be rescinded.

    Andrew~

I am sorry for your broken heart. It hurts.

As for your tat, it really needs to come from within yourself. No one else ought to suggest it or design it. These designs, or images, are already under our skin and getting a tat just brings them to the surface.

Take time for yourself. Take care of yourself. A tat may or may not be in your future; but only you will figure that out

Mike....dude!...chill! I do believe Andrew meant "God has a plan for us" in the universal sense that God has a plan for everyone...not in the "I know God means for me and this girl to be together so I'll deny every other reality" sense. In times of grief and heartache and confusion, faith in God is what gets many of us through and it's not something anyone else needs to criticize. God has a plan for Andrew's life (whether YOU believe that or not is completely irrelevant) and Andrew can draw comfort in the knowledge that that plan is far better than anything we could figure out ourselves, even if it doesn't include someone we thought we were in love with.

It sounds to me like Andrew is handling things pretty well, all things considered. He's looking for a way to express the complicated emotions and lessons he is experiencing right now and contemplating a tat. I don't find that idea far-fetched at all.

I do agree with others that a time of high stress and emotional upheaval is NOT the best time to be making decisions about permanent things...but he's even said he's not just rushing out to do it right away, so I really don't think we have anything to worry about here.

Andrew.....I'm sorry things didn't work out the way you expected. Give it time and wait and see what God has in store for you. It's always way better than we ever thought.

Re: Possible tattoo - need ideas

so there was obviously a big problem in the relationship at the time that you bought her a ring because she broke up with you...and you didn't even notice. it would def. creep me out if my first b/f bought me a ring. how long were you guys dating and how old are you two? don't get over zealous, you will be labled a stalker. as for the tattoo...it's pretty stalker too. if she broke up with you, she doesn't want you to affiliate yourself with her any more. she's tryign to get away.

So let me get this right... me pointing out that he is making himself look like a psycho stalker wack-job is somehow questioning his religion? Are you serious???!!!!

For the record, Andrew... I am not suggesting that you are a Psycho stalker... or anything else negative for that mattter... I am only pointing out what you are making yourself look like! come back to this thread in about a year.... and see who you agree with then!

    Cheers!
