I have a 12" high setup and currently I am only using a heat mat on the hot side providing proper belly heat of 92 measured with a probe laying on the substrate. On the cool side I am using a CHE providing a belly heat of 82 measured as well with a probe on the top of the substrate.
Obviouly on the cool side I have provided an ambient temperature which increases from the bottom to top of the tank as approaching the heat source. However on the hot side no ambient temperatue is provided.
So is an ambient temperature on the hot side of the tank required? Should i place a heat source on the top of the tank as well? (and of course decrese the heat mat power to keep temp at 92 F)
