Re: What is the cheapest morph?

I would not say the original poster was looking for a Het, since a Het is not a morph, just happens to carry a sought after gene. Also, since the original poster says they have a normal, I think a Co dom is probably the morph they are looking for.

YB male is probably the cheapest, along with a Pastel.

My opinion? Don't worry about what the cheapest is now. You said you won't be getting another anytime soon, so pick something you like -- regardless of the price. Start saving. With the way prices seem to keep dropping, by the time you save up the money you decide on today, you'll probably be able to get three different snakes with that money. Just as an example, I picked up a female hypo and a female albino last year at NARBC. This year we got two female black pastels and a male enchi for about half of what we spent last year.

About $100 for a het pied. A mojave from the UK will be more expensive than a mojave from the US.

I hate the word "cheapest" with ball pythons. I like "most affordable"!

I saw YB males going for $50 at the last show I went to. Granted they were not exceptional looking snakes but they were definitely yellowbellies. If I were ever to get a YB I'd want to get one of the more visually impressive ones, they do make great combos and Ivories are one of my favorite white snakes .

I'd say the "most affordable" visual morph right now would have to be pastels but prices on spiders and other great looking morphs are definitely coming down big time I've seen spiders for $150-200.

Sorry, somewhat off topic but if you go back a few years on Fauna Classifieds when spiders first hit the market they were selling for 20k each!

probably YB, pastels, or hets depending on the possible morph.
