It sounds like this snake is either not a burm, or severely malnourished. There is a slim, very very slim possibility that you may have a dwarf burm, but I dont think there is any dwarf albino burms out there, especially one that is several years old.

Post a pic, even if it is a cell phone pic.
6 yards? That's 24', I've only heard of one burmese python accomplishing that length.

No such thing as a dwarf albino.

Re: how much is it worth??

I'm thinking the length of the snake may have been underestimated....it's so easy to do. But...on the other hand...if a 60 year old woman is carrying it around a lot...it can't be TOO big. Not that women that age can't have plenty of spry and strength left.

I'd love to see a picture of it as well, just to see. But anyone basically familiar with snakes in general and pythons in particular can usually tell a burm on sight...so I imagine the OP knows what he's seen.

As for it's value...as has been noted, pinning down it's true dollar value would need more questions being answered. However...if these are neighbors you care about and want to help...it might be nice to offer not just what you feel is a fair-market price, but a little more as well. It's an excellent way to give to someone in need without making them feel like they're taking charity.

I know that there isn't any dwarf albino's, i was just throwing it out there for discussion sake. and as far as being 6 yards, I also threw it out there for same reason.

like people stated it is easy to under estimate the length, but even a 10' is pretty girthy to be carried around the house for the heck of it, let alone it is dangerous for 1 person to be doing that.
