Very clever. It looks really nice and I love the idea of hanging fabric over the opening. I would worry about the staples, though. Don't know how active your snakes are, but mine would rub all over that, crush the cardboard, and probably snag their belly scales on the staples. I would suggest using a hot glue gun. You can get them for pretty cheap, and they have a thousand uses. Making snake decor is only one of them. -lol- Once it's dry, it's hard and smooth to the touch. You have to let it dry completely though because when they say "hot glue" they really mean it.
