Breeding question...tub size

OK,
I have a proven normal female that I'm trying to get my 07 Male Cinni to breed to. I've done the cool down and so far my boas have been hard at it but the BP pairing is....cold, no go. Now the cage size is may have something to do with it, the pair is in one of my boamaster cages which is around 24w X 30L X 14h. My question is should I move them to my rack system that uses the 34qt tubs? It's smaller so in a way the two will HAVE to be together. Maybe less room would mean less space to be separate.

The smaller space may put the girl at ease and make her more receptive and make the male feel more secure giving him a little more confidence, but otherwise I don't think it will help. Only one way to find out though!

You can give it a shot... My girls are in 28 quarts and ive gotten a few locks...

I don't know if moving them would help. It could even stress them out. It is still a little early. They may start locking up for you within the next few months. Good luck.

I am keeping the females in their own environment and putting the boys in with them. My breeding females are in a RBI 3x2x1 cage and all is going well.

I would suggest leaving the female in the space that is hers (ie., not moving her) and putting the fella in her space.

The reminder that it is still very early in the breeding season is a good one!!

Thanks to everyone for your responses, I had to take the male out and sub in a het pied male. The cinni male is in the blue but I'll put him back in when he's done. I normally with my boas put the female in the male's cage, that way the only thing he's worried about is her. It's worked two years straight but this year I'm trying the male to female method. So far my sunglow project has locked up a few times already and boy is he protective over her! Thanks again to everyone and good luck with all of your breeding projects this season!!!!!
