Red face I lost a BP today.....

Thank heavens I found him an hour later

I had the three snakes out for a photo shoot and the normal male started taking off under the stove. I grabbed for him, but he got a hold of something and I was too afraid to pull on him. I didn't want to hurt him! To make matters worse, it's a really old gas stove that came with the house. And thank god that stove hasn't worked properly since we moved in a few weeks ago. None of the pilot lights work, nor can we get them to work (we bought a glasstop, but now we need an electrician that actually works around here). Anyway, back to the story, I take everything out of the oven/broiler area, take a side panel off only to find insulation, and take the top/stove area off. Still no snake So I do the only thing left. Block off the refrigerator so he wouldn't find heat there, turn off the lights, turn off the furnace, and open a couple windows.

An hour goes by and I had been checking every few minutes for any sign of a snake and then there he is! On top of the stove hanging off trying to find a way down! THANK GOODNESS!!!!! What a day

My husband won't hold Alice when I clean his cage, so I have a nice big shoe box that boots came in. It has holes in the side and I have an old towel in it. I put Alice in it and lightly drape another coverlet over it. My tiny 4-lb pomeranian, Dixie, sits guard by the box while I do the tank cleaning. Last night I snapped a picture of her actually sitting on the box! She's very protective of HER snake She even growls at me when I remove her from her spot to get Alice out and then she has to lick him all over to be sure he's okay.

BTW, if I could figure out an easy way to post pics in my posts, I would do so more often. The instructions I found on here seem a bit complicated Apparently, I'm not much of a computer geek.

I made this for another forum I'm on, but it works

I hope that works for you because I would love to see that picture with your dog! I've got a 5lb long haired chihuahua that thinks the cats, the rats, and the snakes are here for him to protect
