    Re: Halloween Costume Ideas!

I had a little kid about 10 years old come to my door on Halloween a few years back dressed in a dark suit, dark glasses and holding a briefcase. My wife asked him what he was and he said the scariest thing you'll ever see. He then opened up his other hand and flipped out a badge that said "IRS". This kid was right, I was terrified!

Ya know, I really want to go as the Joker...but you know, everyone and their brother is probably gonna dress as the Joker, so it kinda lost its appeal.

    Re: Halloween Costume Ideas!

Halloween is my favorite holiday! Sadly, my outfit this year is kinda boring...but since I'm in a Belly Dancing class this semester and we have to have costumes for the Final, I'm making my own and doubling it as my Halloween costume. Complete with jewelry and veil.

Last year, I was a geisha, and the year before that a 'sexy ghost'. However, my mother is the QUEEN of cool, pun-related costumes.

She has been a Ghost of a Chance (ghost with a sandwich board of chance cards from Monopoly), Parrot with a Pirate on her shoulder (she used a full sized puppet of Animal dressed as a pirate), A Gorgon named Zola (medusa wig, green dress with pockets full of cheese), The Drunk's Nightmare (grey sweatsuit, elephant ears and trunk, and pink tutu), The Catacombs (combs sewn all over a black leotard with cat ears and tail), and several others that I can't think up right now.

I like that 'bag of jelly beans' idea. Cute.

I've always wanted to pair up and do a tag team of the blues brothers or jay and silent bob. But I never prepare for it, it will remain a fantasy

get two large white foam pieces, tie them together so they have shoulder straps, and then get some white or clear helium ballons and tie those to your shoulders. get a white sweatshirt and some sweats and bam! you're soap!

Tie a leaf to a string and the other end of the string to the rim of your hat. Wear the hat and whenever anyone asks you what you are blow the leaf and tell them you are a leafblower

    Re: Halloween Costume Ideas!

the gf and I are thinking of having a halloween party at my apartment! I'm excited.

We're thinking of going as fred and wilma flintstone.

Other costume ideas(some may not work as gender neutral costumes):

    1) reverse cowgirl - I saw this one last year, just get cowgirl glothes(bandana, blue jeans or denim skirt) and put 'em on backwards.. It took me a while to figure out what the hell the costume was but it's pretty funny when people get it

    2) the smurfs, any smurf, if you can get a group of people to do it it's even better. Any costume that requires painting large portions of your body is always a good costume

    3) captain planet. see previous comment about body paint.

    4) zombie. The zombie is a classic halloween costume, and if done right is very impressive. Plus, fake blood is fun.

    5) pig chef. get a pig mask(there are some really creepy ones you can find online), and drop by any uniform store or cooking store where you can get white chef clothes, with apron and hat. Add some fake blood and accessories as you wish(cleaver, fake human limb, frying pan, lots of room for ideas). This is one of my personal favorites, very creepy, and works for an EXCELLENT costume for anyone participating in a haunted house. Nothing says scary like an angry, squealing, cleaver wielding pig that wants to cook YOU for dinner.

    6) Planet of the Apes. I'm SURE you can find cheesy masks like the old movie online. Add a wild-looking "human-slave" on a leash or chain with shackles and you're set. Pretty good group costume.

I've been to parties with halloween costume contests, and the best ones are the ones that have a little "skit" to go with the costume. If you're trying to find a rockin' group costume that will dominate any such contest, this should win big:

Do "Thriller"! Do the typical zombie costume, have someone be zombie michael jackson, and learn the dance! I tried to put this together my senior year at college but it fell apart for various reasons.

You can Dress up in a 20 ft retic costume .. might be a little difficult to get on and off . and there will be no arm or leg holes and deffinitly no bathroom access . but still would look very cool ....
I love it when people tell me, "You should think before you speak!" I'm like, "I did. It's what I think and I really don't give a crap what other people think."
