Just wanted to share my new dinker girl. The pic is real bad, which is why i didn't post it in pictures. and it is too late to set up the tent and lights and what not. So her she is, RDR Poss. DH Arctic/Burgundy! I know neither have been proven, but you never know what can happen with genetics. Plus she is a beauty. And to boot, her and a herpstat ND thermostat for only......135.00!!!!!!!!!!
score. If anyone in Middle Tennessee wants a boaphile rack, I know a guy who has a great deal on one. oh yeah my snake. her she is.

i'm keeping an eye on craigslist for nice cages at discounted prices, and I figure if I find a great cage, I'll just need to fill it with another snake

Yeah, The guy I got her from has a four shelf 41 qt tub boaphile rack with heat and tubs for 125.00. I just wish I had another 125.00

I'm tired of people saying that mice are a bad choice of prey item. I have a female who I rescued in 2006. She was over 3 years old and 780g. From May 2006 to December 2006, she gained over 1500g on a diet of around 3 mice a week.

There's NO reason any Ball Python can't thrive on a diet of mice.

Now.. 1 mouse a month, I can understand weight loss. But if the mice are healthy and well-fleshed and add up to whatever weight of rat you're planning on feeding (2-25g mice equals a 50g rat), then your snake will thrive just as well as a snake on rats.

She was on a light diet of mice. The guy fed small and only like one a week and never up sized prey items. she is firm, just did not grow very fast.
