Well depends, some of the shops ive been to measure up to 50 lbs. Depends on witch one you get most of them are food scales so they go pretty high in grams.

At smoke shops? Since when? Last time I checked, smoke shops sell scales to weigh, well - stuff you can smoke (which is not usually more than a pound...)

I got mine from Target for $30 and it weights up to 2000g. I would go with Reptile basics because for only $20 more you get a scale with 5000g more capacity and a bowl to hold he snakes.

Re: where can i find a scale?

Walmart food section, $20, weighs all but my heftiest girl Haurie(she apparently weighs "err")
I think it goes to 2200grams. Eventually I'll get one that weighs up to 5000 grams, but for right now, I don't need it, all but 2 of my snakes are still under 2200 grams.
Cool thing, you can swap it to lbs from grams at a touch. Could be handy if you wanted to see how much chocolate you have on hand after halloween.

I got a postage scale on ebay for around $30, shipped. It goes up to 56 lbs, I believe.
