Nah, how were you supposed to know that the crickets had something wrong with them? How many crickets do you go through a week?

Colin -- I am so sorry -- I just got an email from a feeder company that seemed to have good prices -- but they also sell bait on their web page -- it didn't even cross my mind that they might not have the same standards as "for pet only" - distributors.

Thanks for the timely warning. I was heading out tomorrow to the bait store to pick up nightcrawlers for the turtles and figured I would grab crickets there since I was already there.

So sorry to hear that. It's amazing that the chams could even tell the good cricks from the bad. Smart cham lady you have there.

Might I suggest ordering some Blaptica dubia roaches? They're just as healthy as crickets, yet quieter and way less disgusting. Plus you could start your own colony and stop having to buy them.

Yup, its mainly what gos on after they reach the store, but the supplier might not keep the bait in the same kind of setup as they do feeders. Is there any type of veggie that could cause this? They might have been feeding them that. Also with the conditions they keep them in who knows what sorta of things the crickets might be carrying?
