    Congrats Derek! I'm glad you got a couple of cute little worms out of that clutch.

    I wouldn't describe the wee man's tartan as having glitches.

    Congrats, that are both really nice looking little snakes, but yeah, that is a bizarre abherrant pattern on snake number two.

    Do you think it may be random, or due to something in the incubation process?

    Bruce
    No, I think it's random. I've seen tons of corns with connected patterns, and some with perfect patterns, I would think that if it was from incubation, it would occur to all of the hatchlings wouldn't it?

    Congrats on those two cuties Derek. As for the "abnormalities" in the belly pattern, I don't think it could be caused by the mold from the bad eggs. I think its just random patterning. Either way, congrats again. LOL, Im not much help am I?

    Better to 'pop' them.

    However, go gently as I have heard of people causing great harm with this method as their grip is too strong for such a small species.

    Congrats!

    I have never tried to probe a baby corn but good luck. If the eggs are healthy they can have all sorts of problems and still hatch nicely. Patterns are as different as the colors between sibling corns, just what happens with them. Now if you were to keep that one and find more with that linked saddles then breed them you are on your way to creating an aztec pattern through your own selective breeding.

    Sadly I couldn't pop a tube of pringles.

    Only one of them is eating on its own yet and is a lot bigger than the non eater.

    When it shed its head pattern went a lot lighter than the non-eaters - I don't expect it to last but I think it looks cute so I took a couple of pics of it.

    I tried to get decent full body shots but it is going to take at least two more snake wranglers or cable ties to hold them still.

    And the closest to a good body shot of the eater,

    And the non eater;

    I'm in no rush to see them go so will happily wait till the second one is eating well before even thinking of it.
