Not Hiding Today

Hello,

I have a normal ball python (http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=75204)<--- Thats the thread I have posted pictures of her.

I have had her for about 3 months, she has only missed one meal since I got her and she was going in to shed.

Today when I woke up I have noticed she hasn't been in either of her hides which is very rare for.

Her cool side is at 80 and warm 92 and humidity is at 55%.

Just curious if anyone knows why she wouldn't be hiding. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her. She isn't making weird noises, but it's just this is the first time I've seen this. She was balled up in front of her hide this morning, I took her out for a second too take a look at her and she's fine. Came home after being gone all day and she was balled up behind her hide. I just took her out and put her in front of her warm hide and she's just balled up in front of it.

Could it be maybe that her hides are too small for her?
Not sure what it could be.

How big are her hides in comparison to her?

They could be too small, or she just may be in an un-hiding mood.
My ball python generally hides, but usually once a week (or if it gets a bit warm in his hide) he'll go behind it.

Well in comparison to her it should actually be a perfect size.. I can take a picture of her next to her hide and post it if that would be easier?

Nevermind, she just went in her hide but her head is sticking out.. She might be hungry, I dunno.

That's called lurking and sometimes yes it does mean they are hungry. Being ambush predators they will often use their hides as cover while they watch for prey to come by (even snakes that are fed f/t exhibit this natural behaviour).

Also it's a good idea to have a peek inside her hides. Some bp's will use their hide as a toilet, then park themselves outside until you get the nasty stuff out of there.

Yea, its just weird because she always comes out at night and roams around and when I get up in the morning she's always in 1 of her hides but this morning she wasn't.

I just fed her 4 days ago. I fed her a jumbo weaned mouse.

She did urinate last night but I check her hides and the paper towel every night to make sure that everything is good and it's good now, just checked again to make sure.

Thats pretty funny! The other day mine had only her head stuck in the hide and the rest of herself coiled up outside of it lol

My snake does the exact opposite. The other day I opened his tub and found he had pooped and peed in his hide and was just sitting there laying in it... needless to say I had to give him a bath he stunk sooo bad.

Mine peed last night and I don't even have to look in to know because I can smell it

I just fed her now, she at last friday so it's day 5.. Not sure what to feed her now if she's hungry every few days. I'm feeding her jumbo weaned mice.
