reguge problem

lol,its no longer a rodent.this blows!
yea i get them from a good source.i can get a mouse and have it tested.how much will this cost?i really dont think its the mice though.the guy that owns this place is a pro.he is sarcastic as hell and i dont like him,but he knows his stuff and would not sell infected rodents or reptiles.

i just cant grasp why this snake regurges digested rodents.it makes no sense.i have seen nice urates so the passage must be clear.

after he regurged i gave him a soak for about 30 minutes and he was stressed out!!!!!!! just picking him up was tough w/o getting tagged.

so this is the second week in a row i fed the little guy and he regurgitates days after eating.the first time it looked like poop,this time its lighter colored.im taking him to the vet monday or tuesday but wondering wat could be the problem.it looks to me like its been digested so i dunno why he is spitting it out.could he be stopped up or is this a infection or parasite issue?i have not handled him since feeding.any help?

So was this first time determined to be poop or a regurge? I'm a little confused. Could you post pics of the second occurrence?

I'm not sure on the prices of the tests but it may be worth while if your snake ends up having a bacterial infection.

well after seeing him do it this time im 100% that last week was as well.im trying to get pics of this time.there is more hair and its lighter colored.

That definitely doesn't look like poop. Keep us updated on the vet visit. Hopefully everything gets better for you and your snake! Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I don't know what else to tell you.

Was it live? F/T?
I would wait a couple of weeks before feeding again and definately get him to the vet.

If it was F/T I would be concerned about quality.
Sounds like the snake has some kind of digestive disorder wether it be parasitic or viral.

Doesnt sound like fun. Hope you get a vet to clear it up soon.

After a re-gurge, you shouldn't attempt to feed for at least two weeks, because they need time to re-build the fauna in their bellies. The regurge itself is very stressful on their body and not being allowed to recover only makes it worse.

Secondly - my very first ball python regurged and I jumped on here immediately and was advised to take him the vet, which I did and he had internal parasites that had caused the regurge. He was treated with Panacur by the vet, one dose a week. He was not offered food again until a week AFTER his last doseage.

Good luck - the vet is far more important than that round of golf!

i know the vet is more important.it just sux i have to give up a round of golf due to a sick snake.i got this guy as a captive bred animal at a show and expected no problems.needless to say im a little bit upset.

you said the doctor gave the snake panacur treatments? weird,my vet just gave me the medication and said here you go,give this orally once a week.this was for a captive hatched girl i got awhile back (she is doing great now) but did it cost extra to have the vet do it?
