I don't think anyone can tell you what you "should do" ... everyone has their own way and finding "your way" is one of the best parts about this hobby in my opinion. I know a lot of different breeders and everyone has their "own way" of doing things ... some things that work for one guy/gal, just don't work for another.

What I like to do is place a male into a females tub for 24 - 48 hours. If you see a lock right away, as soon as they seperate, rest the boy ... if you don't see any locks but the boy is courting the girl like crazy, wait the entire 48 hours ... if they are together for a day and not doing anything (like laying at opposite ends of the enclosure) take the boy out and try again in a week.

After a lock or 24-48 hours of cooling, since it's just one boy per female, rest him for a week and then pair up again.

It only takes a single copulation to make a female gravid, so when you're breeding one to one, you don't need to hammer them together ... it'll happen if your environment is correct.

I know some people that pair up one to one and leave the boy in with the girl for the entire season ... that might work better for you, but it's something that I have zero experience with and therefore not something that I could be helpful with.

Remember, this is supposed to be fun ... play around ... try different things ... if you get eggs, great! ... if you don't, you know what not to do next year.
