Thanks but he's not a crook, and while I value all opinions, calling someone I trust a crook was pretty rude.

Here, click that little link here... it shows my fuel pump, for $354. The filter was $15. That's $369 without tax. Plus $22 tax, we're up to $391.

I don't recall how much the tank was, but it was over $100.

I'm not a stranger to messing around with cars, but I am not an expert as you clearly are. My monte carlo is the absolute worst design, and I wouldn't be surprised if they put the fuel pump right in the middle of the engine block to save space.

I have no doubt he did the job in the hours it took him, so I have no problem paying him the $150 for it, he's one guy with a little shop and a full schedule all the time. He so kindly squeezed me in on short notice, and if he felt the need to charge me more for that convenience, so be it.

So all that was to say, chill out and don't call everyone a crook when you think you know better.
