Oh I'm glad to hear that! You're our go to guy for boa stuff and I was hoping you'd think she looked good. She's eating a couple of jumbo rats every 10 day to 14 days - she basically tells us when she's ready for food by her mannerisms. The boa stare LOL.

There is something so awe inspiring, so humbling almost about having this almost 9 foot snake lay beside you or gracefully slither over you. Feeling her body with her incredible powerful muscles but she's relaxed, she's not afraid....it's just....amazing! That this snake who could hurt us if she wanted to, is chosing to trust us, is intelligent enough to know we mean her no harm....well even for gabby talkative me, it's just pretty hard to put into words just how very incredibly cool that is!

We'll never be able to own a retic or a burm or an anaconda, but through Tequila we are getting a taste of the wonderful world of bigger snakes.
Jo, Thats awesome, your passion for your snakes is very apparent... Tequila is turely a awesome looking boa

Hey hon you did get some amazning pics of tequila. It's fun to watch her explore the house,it was like wow stairs are these like my tree they go up cool. I find interacting with her and our other boas to be intresting as them seem to like and enjoy such interaction more so then our bp's.

Okay dear but now I get to tell them about that one "interaction" LMAO!

Mike was lifting Tequila off our bed in preparation for hauling her big butt back downstairs when she did a very typical boa move - the big head swing. Well Mike was wearing a pair of those loose legged board shorts and geeze guess where Tequila swung that big head of hers!

Yep, right up the leg of Mike's shorts!!!

Okay I know I should have been the responsible snake handler and immediately helped remove her but heck...I burst out laughing at the look on his face! It was all I could do to NOT take a quick snapshot of that! LMAO Apparently men don't see this situation as quite the hilarious moment as women do. HAHAHAHAHA

All the credit to Mike though, he handled it perfectly. Didn't get freaked out, just stood still and removed Tequila. I don't know if I would have been that calm had she done that with me. LOL

Thanks McKinsey, we think she's very special too.

Bruce, properly handled and cared for these are very incredible snakes. That they can be out and about for more extended time periods and handled without creating as much stress for them is really fun. Since most of these type of boas seem to have a pretty laid back approach to life makes them a real joy to have around. Feeding day is a different ball of wax though. Big strike range, heavy hitters that don't play around when hunting, but other than that I've yet to see any real temperment issues with the boas we've had in the house.

She is lovely, Jo. Its unreal to us to think that our Sammy could get as big as Tequila. I know what you mean though about holding a big snake. I was overwhelmed the first time I actually held Sam, it was amazing. She was more active, less shy, faster moving, and much heavier than any of our other babies, she explored for a bit and then settled down with most of her coiled next to me and her head on my stomach.
I loved it, so I know how you feel!!!!

    Jo,

Tequila looks great! I couldn't have found a better home for her than with you, Mike and the family.
