    I have a bit of an advantage living in Southern Cali, it is outside year round. It is in a pot but would be much happier in the ground. Coming from Hawaii they like warm temps and lots of sun.

    Start of with a phalenopsis, they are easy(semi sunny window) and last for a long time. You can find them cheap in many Home Depot garden centers
