A Clutch Worth Saving
This clutch was off to a rough start.... 4 eggs, as you can see two of them are boob eggs. The pic below is shown a few weeks from hatching.
I had got advice from Tim Bailey and also Sean at EBN.... The booby eggs were both treated with (LB) Liquid Bandage, costs about $5 per box of about 10 sticks.
The entire boob area was coated with liquid bandage ASAP in a preventative form of treatment before any change was noticed. These eggs were then doted over for the entire duration.
Below pic was taken a few weeks prior to hatching.

About three weeks before their due date, one of the eggs (The smallest) developed mold spores on the boob area. Using the cap off a pen, I carefully scraped it off and re-applied liquid bandage to the area.... but these spores would re-appear as shown each day. So it became a matter of scraping them off each day to prevent them from spreading and potentially killing the egg.

Well, the liquid bandage treatments did work... the entire clutch went full term.... here is the other boob egg after being cut when one of the "normal" eggs had pipped.

Inner view with yolk sack attached.

The boob egg, washed out, this is the one that grew mold spores.

I did a cross section cut of the boob section, it has the consistent feel of not quite set silicon. Not hard, but pliable and a some what softish gel feel.

Now to what hatched out....
Both of the boob eggs that I had worked pretty hard to save held surprises that I'm thrilled with.... two Yellow Bellies!
Out of the smallest egg came a YB weighing 36g.... post shed pics.

Size reference

The other boob egg YB - 44g

Also out of the clutch came this male Granite.... has similar side pattern and markings to the YB's, so I find him to be interesting!

Both of the YB's are females.... couldn't ask for better odds there!
Hope you enjoyed the long post and didn't fall asleep! LOL

Awesome!! I will try that next time. I just hatched out a boob egg myself. After it hatched out I checked the inside of the boob part and it was solid like plastic. I guess every boob egg is different. Mine did form alot of mold which I left untreated but it hatched out fine.
Congrats on the awesome clutch!!

Congrats on the awesome clutch!!

Thanks, I'm sure minor environmental factors come into play. Humidity levels, conditions of the substrate... how many times the incubator door and container were opened and closed etc.
Good to hear yours came out fine also!
