I have an Animal Plastics cage, and I think the UTH that they can install for you works just perfects. It heats the entire T3 cage. Just my .02.

I use a ceramic heat emitter for heat.

Re: carpet python setup post it!
personally i think AP's carpet cage is too small for anything but maybe a small male IJ... i think 4x2x2 is good for most carpets. UTH's work well if your room is warm enough, but if ambient temp is not upper 70's low 80's then i'd have an incandescent light of some sort as snakes really benefit from that type of heat... just my opinions of course.

as you may see itīs a DIY cage (made by a friend) and decorated by me:
- wooden/glass (2 sides each) cage: 100x45x80cms (40"x18"x32"high);
-CHE on the hot side and cable on the bottom (cage is very high)+ one 2.0 26w bulb + one 5.0 26w bulb + one night glow bulb
- natural plants: pothos + bromeliad + ficcus;
- natural perches ( platanus - donīt know the English name..)
- coco walls and background;
I am thinking about getting live plants in my JCP cage as well. How would you clean/disinfect it? How often do you do it?

Wait so Carpet pythons don't require carpet as substrate?
