Inexpensive temporary housing

We plan on adding another BP sometime later this summer. Eventually, we want to get them set up in a rack, but obviously that won't happen until after QT for the new one. What suggestions do you all have for inexpensive housing for the QT period?

Well what you could do is move your current bp into the rack and clean out the tank your bp is now(assuming you have a tank) and use that for qt in another room of the house

Well... You can just get a tub and set it up with heat and stuff. (Just the tub, not in the rack)

Depending on the size of the animal as well, it would also work to use a tank.

I always have extra single pieces of flexwatt hanging around that are wired with a plug, and those extra homemade rheostats too ($7 to make).

Because when I come home with something new, it is almost never a planned thing lol.

Scattered tubs, flexwatt + cheaper rheostat. It's a pain in the rear behind but worth it.

That would make way too much sense! Can't use that idea! LOL! Actually the problem with that is it would require getting the rack set up before we move. Somehow the fact that we are planning on moving didn't seem like a necessary detail in this post!

Yeah, part of what I'm thinking is that QT housing will be a must every time we bring in a new animal. So I should probably have some stuff ready to go for those times when I just can't resist that gorgeous pied that was mismarked so they sold it to me for $25.

15qt tub, kinda large for my hatchling but I was able to fit two small black hides and a water dish in there so it took up most of the room. Couple fake plants and she seemed happy. I'll post a pic or two after I get home. I'm happy with it. I plan on switching to a 6qt if necessary.

Heck yeah... I dream about my manager friend at the store selling me his adult male faded albino for $100 'because I'm such a good snake parent'. *sigh*

Anyway, I just use single tubs with UTHs and ZooMed stats for QT. It's cheap and easy to set up. Though I don't really like tubs...I can't argue that they are lighter and cheaper than tanks.
