Repster is has the legal waiver with Fedex....you and your customer are just using their service and are not 'verified' in anything. I am one to think that certain people should be 'qualified' to ship reptiles. Reptster requires no qualifications.

The legal aspect. Someone ships a kingsnake into Georgia....hognoses into Maryland....something venomous....doesn't label the box properly and violates the Lacy Act....Who is responsible when the law comes a callin'?

From a business standpoint.....Your customer saves $18 a shipment for letting Repster be the middleman for Fedex. I use Fedex directly and charge the customer the $18 extra shipping price. Your prices will alway be cheaper than mine unless I reduce the value of my animals to absorb the $18 or use Repster. That is forcing me in a corner and I do not like it.

When people where undercutting on actual animal prices it was a big no-no....but when they undercut on shipping prices it is ok?

Will FedEx deal with your problems when you call them or will you have to call Repster and have them call Fedex to deal with the problem? Usually Fedex generally only allows authorized users on the Fedex account to deal with shipment issues so you probably have to trust Repster to deal with the situation immediately. Not saying they won't....I just wonder how thing will go when something goes wrong.

Personally, I can get on the phone with my account rep for Fedex and have any issues taken care of in a matter of minutes. Fedex has always provide great service for me....but now it seems I have to use a middleman in order to compete on pricing.
