I really don't see any difference where the frog(s) are concerned. A staple diet of inverts is the best way to go, I believe everyone has already agreed on that. A mouse, snake or even a lizard is also perfectly acceptable where the bigger terrestrial frogs are concerned. Just don't use them as a staple, it's really as simple as that.
Now live or frozen rodent, well, that's all up to the frogs owner.
A large amount of inverts in the diet can cause problems with the frogs and their livers. I understand feeding mice to a snake because they can't eat ANYTHING ELSE.
I just don't think it's a very humane idea. If it could eat something else and still get a good nutritions I think it's pointless to kill those animals just for the sake of it being 'awesome'.
It doesn't seem very animal caring to me personally.

This is a SNAKE forum, I don't appreciate the animals I love being eaten by frogs. It seems as if you fed it to the frog live, and that is cruel, and inhumane nonetheless.
Do you think the people that love rats appreciate us showing our snakes eating them?

So your responses are soley based on your personal views? What's right or wrong in your eyes is completely different that what is healthy and unhealthy for a frog, and it's diet. These guys would be eating rodents in the wild, so it's only fitting for them to get it in captivity as well, and that would be my personal view as well.
I totally respect your opinion Crystal, I just don't really share or agree with it.

Re: Pacman, who's got em?
You flippin people are ignorant. BTW DO YOU GUYS EVEN HAVE ANY PACMANS OR PYXIES?? Anyways, rodent and such are perfectly healthy to be feeding to these particular species of frog, as long as they arent used as a staple or fed too frequently. once a month is perfect and probably healthy too because afterall in the wild these frogs natural diet includes rodents and lizards although youre right it is PRIMARILY composed of insects and other inverts. SOOO why dont you people just chillaxx a little bit and think about what youre talking about. ANd ED Clark if you are reading this thread i must say once againn AWESOME pics and im looking forward to seeing some more over at fatfrogs where you dont get flamed or "in trouble" for posting pics of frogs consuming what would be a natural part of their diets. GOODBYE PYTHON PEOPLE I TAKE IT I AM NOW BANNED BY THAT IGNORAMOUS OF A ADMIN.

But see that's not my point.
There's nothing else that you could realistically feed a snake in captivity except for rodents. :]

I'm a vegetarian.
But not because I disagree that people should eat meat and that carnivores were meant to eat meat, with that, I agree. I don't like the abuse that animals are forced into before they die.
Frogs have a much wider variety of foods that are suitable for aprox. the same amount of nutrition, such as many varieties of insects, mice, and rats. Reptiles are used, but are expensive and not bred to do so, many of which may have vaccinations and other problems that can lead to the frog. So what I'm saying, is I don't like when people feed their frogs wild caught (or even bred) snakes that they could've paid quite a bit of money for because it's 'cool'. Snakes have rodents and occasionally chicks.. but are very uncommon because they have salmonella issues and other diseases.
Understand?

Of course I understand. I'm just trying to lighten the mood a bit.
