silver mylar tape = foil tape?

Im building a new tub set up for my 700g female ball python which will most likely be her home for the next couple of years (unless she reaches gargantuan proportions).

I have pretty much everything ready but im not sure if silver mylar tape is okay to use to put the flexwatt im using as a heating source onto the plasic. i'm afraid it isnt going to stick. everything i've read says to use foil tape, i was also wondering about electrical tape since its super sticky (and will be OUTSIDE the enclosure only).

    thoughts?

    * i have a johnson thermostat, the flexwatt will be controlled with that.

No...you need to use foil tape (available at Walmart, Home Depot or Lowes - along with just about any home improvement store).

Foil tape helps channel the heat (since it is metal) and has a super adhesive which will stick to just about anything (hot or cold, wet or dry)

The others will work at first but with the constant heat will quickly loose their stickness and you will just have to redo everything in a few weeks.

    Hope this helps

I saw some Duct Tape branded(I believe it was) aluminum tape I think it was called. It wasnt the flat gray color of normal duct tape, but metallic/relfective.

Just FYI I think the umbrellas it was talking about are photography umbrellas that are used to bounce the flash. LOL sorry I know it really has nothing to do with this thread
