    Hatch Date Question??

So what are the thoughts about a snake's birthday?

Is it when it pips its head out of the egg?
    or
Is it when it fully comes out of the egg?

Once the head pops out, the shoulders are between the pelvis of the mother and it restricts the breathing. Once the head pops out the kid is pulled out...no waiting, even the 2 minutes that you said.....

Oh wow! I totally learned something new today! So it's basically like the kid is being rear naked choked if he/she hangs around too long. Crazy!

Yup, my first kid got "stuck" in that position...my wife almost had to have an emergency C-section....his heart rate was down to 8 BPM...

I personally think that it is when it crawls out. Until it's out, it is still preparing to face the world (i.e. absorbing yolk). They don't do real well when they don't get that "first" meal.

Whoa! 8BPM...that's incredibly low. I guess I learned a lot of new stuff to do. I'm pretty weak in the "children" department.

But what if a couple take a few days longer to crawl out? Different hatch dates within one clutch?

of course. They clutch doesn't have a hatch date, only each egg does.
