Re: Have anyone you ever witnessed your snake shed?

I want to record my snake throughout the night via night vision on my camera and I'm going to record normal through the day. I'm hoping to catch a shed eventually.

Ive seen about 10 sheds in person. I witnessed one that only took about 2-3 minutes very impressive shed.

Re: Have anyone you ever witnessed your snake shed?

    I catch them quite often.

My female "Olive" had a shed last week. I opened the tub, she crawled up into my hand and the shed just rolled off in my hand like pulling off a sock.

It is always cool too see. Especially when you get a perfect sock shed (always a sign you are doing something right with your husbandry).

Yep I've watched a few of them. When they are tucked into their hide and wriggling it reminds me of a woman trying to wriggle out of a pair of too tight pantyhoes LOL.

We had a funny experience one feeding night. One of the female BP's darted out of her hide, with her shed rolled about half way down her body, grabbed her rat, snarfed it down, gave us quite the look and then went back to finishing up that shed! LOL She hates to miss a good meal, that one.

I've watched my boa shed several times.... probably since he's in a tank and all the balls are in a rack

Re: Have anyone you ever witnessed your snake shed?

I've seen several. I was lucky enough to catch my pastel starting a shed once and managed to grab some of the shedding process on film.

I've also been lucky enough to catch a few of my geckos shedding...before they've eaten all the skin.

    Teehee!

I've watched the boa when she was a baby, round and round and around and around in her hide...very cool. But the best has been watching the burmese...takes a loooong time, but I find the whole thing fascinating.

Funny story: I had 'Planet Earth' playing on the DVD player downstairs and went upstairs to do something, can't remember what and caught Lourdes just starting his shed. Sat and watched a "real" nature show while Planet Earth played on to an empty couch downstairs, hehe...

Yep. The big girl Hera...missed her head but watched the rest, and I've also seen a couple of the other snakes doing their shed thing, too. It's always cool to watch, and so weird picking up a brand-new, WET shed skin.
