Re: Lapse in judgment (not for the squeamish)

The next day wasn't pretty...it was angry & wanting to re-open in multiple places. Interestingly enough, it didn't bruise as much as we all expected.

A week later (tonight) I have about 70% sensation in my thumb, weird prickly/electrified zingers through my arm depending on what I'm doing, and limited range of motion in my pinky finger.

Aside from that it's business as usual!

    K~

I know you've heard them all, but again, wishing you the best for a fast and complete recovery!!!

Glad to hear it wasn't any worse, and that you had such good help with the ladies. And yes, I'm sure they'll always remember their trip to NERD.

    All the best!!

I'm glad we didn't get a show like that when we visited yesterday!! Our 6 year old daughter did get her face way too close to a few snakes. After tempting fate numerous times she did finally get a minor war wound, a scratch from a chicken.

Kara's thumb still doesn't have all the feeling back. And of course a nasty scar!!

Re: Lapse in judgment (not for the squeamish)

I realize this is an old post but I have to say that Kara seems pretty typical of reptile folks. About a month ago I pulled over to get a fairly large gopher out of the road. It was dark and I waved my arms at on coming traffic to slow them down. Then I did something really stupid. I turned back to the gopher. As it turns out the on coming car did NOT see me and I literally came inches from catching a grand am with by backside and it swooshed by at 30 miles an hour. Even stranger (since I don't have a death wish) is that the only thing I was thinking was "OH_____ ," and "DON'T HIT IT"

It definitely gave me pause. The things I learned were, A. I need to get a snake hook for the car and B. NEVER EVER EVER TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE TRAFFIC.
