Hey breeders, leave them, leave them eggs alone!
I see a ton of posts where people get eggs and then continually check, recheck, candle, air out, etc. I like to put them in the egg boxes and leave them alone until they are ready to be cut. In the last 2 weeks I'll do a quick air change in the egg boxes periodically but I never even open the egg boxes until then. 100% hatch rate so far. If you mixed your incubation medium correctly and your incubator temps are solid, you shouldn't need to do a thing. I know a few breeders that do things the same as well...
Anyone want to weigh in on the subject?

Re: Hey breeders, leave them, leave them eggs alone!
I agree I leave them alone for the most part. The only concern for me is if an egg box isnt sealed real good it may dry up during incubation. I have had some get a little dry depending on the kind of lid/tub.
Anyway just a check here and there to make sure everything is as it should be. I have had to lightly mist a drier tub before, NEVER on the eggs.

A wise man once gave me a little trick. 3 words (well 2 and a consonant): Press N Seal.

I check mine and candle them about once every 7-10 days. I enjoy watching the developmental process and I, too, have a 100% success rate.
To each his own.
Cheers,

Usually when I hear someone claiming to always have 100% hatch rate I tend to be a smart alec and ask how many months they've been breeding ball pythons for.....
I tend to go in between and check every couple of weeks or so. Only because I HAVE lost eggs in the past that could have been saved had I checked them before they had gone too long.
And I don't think I've had 100% hatch rate ever since I moved beyond a half dozen clutches a year. Of course most of that is from the same females year after year.

Yea, I should say I have had eggs go bad almost every year. But, Me cutting the good ones early on I have had no problems.. I dont think there really is anything called a 100% hatch rate unless you only have a handfull if clutches of course..
