    PowWow pics

We went to the Memorial Day PowWow in Black River Falls, WI for a couple hours today. I figure alot of you have never been to one (this was Jason's first) so I might as well share! It was pretty hard to get real good pics, but I tried!

The one I posted pics of last year were from Bear River PowWow where my family is from. Hopefully I'll have some really nice pics from that one in July! I mainly went to this one because I wanted to find some gifts from some of the venders that always show up!

    Re: PowWow pics

There was a time when I went to a lot of the Pow Wows out here in Ca.

From what I've been told they are but a shadow to the ones back east and up north. I'd like to go to some of the really big ones.

There are some really interesting folks at Pow Wows. From the sell the tourist a "genuine" whatever it is to make a buck to the fancy dancers and drum groups.

I have to confess that I actually like most of the Frybread I've had too.

    mmmmm frybread.......
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Fry bread is pretty darn good.

And I found out that my Native heritage (Blackfeet Sioux of the Lakota Nation) was a mortal enemy of Melanie's (Chippewa). So that was interesting!

If you go back far enough, before the invasion, all that really meant, most likely, was that you were more likely to steal ponies and women from them than actually try to kill them, though that did happen.

Wonder if someone should start locking her door at night.....
