News article: Carpet Python eats cat

Interesting article out of Australia.

A carpet python was found after it had eaten a kitten in a family's backyard. I know it's just a typical news story about snakes that plays on people's fears, but I was impressed once again at how the Australians treat their reptiles. Even though it had eaten this family's pet, they called someone to safely remove the snake. They even went out of their way to x-ray the snake instead of making it regurge in order to confirm if it had in fact eaten the kitten.

Very interesting article. Not exactly warm fuzzies, but at least it wasn't completely condemning snakes. Even better, they sounded like they were trying to make the public more aware of the breeding season in a non let's all get hysterical kinda way.
