General Industry Stats?
Hmmm. So I've been prowling around looking for solid data to back up the general belief that the reptile industry is growing in leaps and bounds. Not much to show for it.
I found the summation of the APPMA pet owners' survey, but it is still general data (ie 11% growth a year). I couldn't find any solid info on attendance at reptiles shows or current valuation of the market as a whole. Anyone know where to find any of that stuff??
Cheers,
Kat

Reptile shows I would go straight to the sources:
NARBC and others and see what they have to offer.
When the data is collected from the PIJAC thing, I think we may have plenty to show as well..

God, we are hanging off of PIJACs little toe nail, arent we. Dont get me wrong I think they are doing an awesome thing to try and help us out, but isnt it like putting all your eggs in one basket? Relying soley on them....... I dont know.....

That's usually the case for industries that have yet to cross the early adopter chasm, which the reptile market has not (with no guarantee it ever will).

It's not a question of "in one basket" as much as it is "in the only basket available".
Until the reptile market grows enough to attract investors or institute an organization responsible for keeping up with the kinds of metrics we're discussing, we have to take free market analysis where we can get it, and hope it's accurate.
