i went to the wilds in Ohio a few years back and they have 2. the migrate in China during a certain season so they will walk around the edge of the 1000 acers thinking they are migrateing... they have an odd body shape and walk like a bear.
if anyone has a chance to see one SEE IT!

Looks like you both had a wonderful time. I love otters too, and I become so peaceful while watching dolphins. I could watch them all day.

What? No pics of the Komodo dragons??? (do they still have those)
I remember a number of years ago when my oldest boy was a tiger cub in the cub scouts, we got a special behind the scenes tour of the tiger house at the MN Zoo. It's a building where the off display animals stay and where everyone is fed. They had a yellow line painted on the floor that was about 3 feet from the bars, you had to stay on the other side of the line so that the Tigers couldn't reach through the bars and grab you, but 3 feet is pretty darn close to a full grown Tiger. They had one large adult male there on a breeding loan that was huge, I was surprised by how big they really are. He was feeling kind of peckish and wanted to be fed so he let loose with a roar while we were standing there three feet away from him. Every hair on my body stood on end and I could feel my bones vibrate. It made me feel rather insignificant in the over all scheme of life, but it was AWESOME.
The MN Zoo does a VERY nice job of naturalistic displays.

The dolphins weren't real friendly that day, although we did get some short video clips of them swimming around...really majestic animals.

There's your komodo. They do a pretty good job with displays, only animal I saw pacing was the sun bear, he looks all tweaked out anyways.

Thats the one thing that dissapoints me about the MN Zoo. There really isn't a reptile house. The area where they keep the most reptiles is always pitch black lit with Red bulbs....there's only a big burm, green tree python, a few frogs, turtles, and some geckos. Not really much variety.

You just posted the horse pics so you could use that line! I'll post the videos of the dolphins in a little bit!
