Question Leopard Gecko, Really a Gecko

Dont geckos have padded feet? So why is the Leopard called a gecko. Or is it because Geckos vocalize that make them a "gecko". Just a thought I had earlier today. I can think of a gecko right now that has the feet of a leopard. Anyone?

It isn't sticky toes that makes a gecko a gecko, but rather the ability to vocalize like you said. There are lots of geckos that don't have padded, sticky toes--for instance, fat tails and cat geckos and those in the nephurus, diplodactylus, coleonyx and goniurosaurus species and more.

Sorry--I get a little carried away when people start talking geckos.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe there are two different types of geckos, the ones with sticky feet and absent of eyelids, and the ones with the leopard gecko type feet, which are also able to close their eyes.
