New BP tomorrow, used 10 gallon tank?

    Ok, so, new snake tomorrow.

I have a 10 gallon tank i've been feeding Vincent in the past few weeks and just started to feed him in his own enclosure. Sooo.. I have this spare 10 gallon tank.

It should be ok to use it right? I'm going to bleach the crap out of it and PAM it before I put the new snake in. I was debating getting a tub, but I'll wait till I start breeding if I can use this.

Just wanna know if it's ok because i've been feeding Vincent in there, and i'm going to QT the new guy.

Also, I don't want to stick a UTH on there, I've heard aluminium tape works well at holding them on?

I think you should be fine to do that. Like you said, be sure to clean it well and just follow normal quarantine procedures... Aluminum tape should work fine to hold the UTH on the tank... I assume you are going to tape it to the outside bottom of the tank...

Aluminum tape is fun!! I have never been so excited by tape haha! I covered the bottom of my tank with aluminum foil and aluminum tape to help distribute the heat more evenly and it was a good ol time...haha oh I have no life...And yea the 10 gallon should be fine for a juvenile for quite a while. The tank should be at least 1/3 the length of the snake if your worried about size. Good luck with the new addition!

Haha, of course! I just didn't want to permantly attach it because i'm going to be moving him into a 20L when he's bigger. Or maybe a Tub if I decide to breed later.

I was actually worried about mixing my new snake with a tank i've fed Vincent in. But lots of bleach should kill anything in there. I'm going to PAM it before I put him in there just for security measures.

Oh yea, well for sure the bleach should kill any mouse smell and Vincents aroma, if for some reason it doesn't, then your snake might be hungry all the time lol.

I didn't think to address the fact about feeding in that tank because, you've got it figured out already! Bleach and PAM will do the job. You don't need my help haha

What you can also do is stick the heat mat to a ceramic tile or a bit of plexiglass. I have a few set up like that so I can move them from tub to tub.
