Re: superballs ?
Im not trying to make any enemys here. But its that alot of people argue with me on breeding hybrids. Im not trying to start breeding like hundred and thousandths of them so that I can sell them, I just want one for myself so that I can see how it acts and stuff, im a very curious person.

....you do realize that you would most likely get more than 'one' snake if you bred them, right?

Yea I know ill get more than one egg, but I heard that since its a hybrid that most of the eggs won't hatch in the first clutch.

Re: superballs ?
curiosity killed the cat you know put aside the health issues of the hybrid they havent been around long enough to know what the long time effect on the snake is so you as a fairly new herper ( just going off your post ) do you want to take that risk without knowing the out come and second to want to breed anything and the hope that most wont hatch is terrible i suggest that you do a little more research as your not finding the info here that you want i wish you well in your endevours

Re: superballs ?
Well im not a newbie, Ive had snakes for about 8 years now. Like you said no one knows how the superballs health would be in the long run and of course no one will find out either if no one attempts to breed them and keep them. But really think about, you guys are consirned about the hybrids health, and I care about its health also, but no one will ever know how their healths would be and how they act, etc. if no one tries to keep one. I mean think about it, when people started catching snakes in the wild and putting them in cages and breeding them in captivity no one new about their health problems and what their conditions needed to be in captivity, but everyone started learning by keeping a snake with the little knowledge they had. And everyone learns by trial and error. So if I happen to breed the hybrid I would take care of it by my knowledge of blood and ball pythons. And if the snake thrives well then I can share my knowledge to future herp collectors who want to do the same thing im doing.

You can own snakes for 20 years, but it still doesn't make it better. the fact that you are mudding two bloodlines "because you are curious". Just because they are out there doesn't mean that you should make more. If you have both, I don't see the need to have the hybrid, unless you just want to "show it off".
Look at carpets for instance. Pure carpets are getting fewer and fewer because people like you are mixing the bloodlines. Imagine if everyone wanted to do the super balls, so everyone gets some bloods and starts crossing the breeds, years down the road pure bloods may not be so easy to find. (not saying it will saying it could)
It is a touchy subject, and to come on here and say you want to do all of this because you are curious?????? why don't you find someone who has one and go see it. But to figuratively destroy two bloodlines for your own curiosity is not a good reason.
Thats it I'm done.

Re: superballs ?
Everything you guys keep telling me is about selling the snakes. Im not gonna sell the snakes. And why cant I be curious? I love snakes, I think they are the most interesting animals in the world. I bet you guys think Im trying to breed them so that I can sell them and make money. And a question for you guys, why do you guys keep snakes?

Re: superballs ?
I keep my 20+ Snakes becuase they are amazing creatures. I own multiple species so that i do not have to own a Hybrid.
Yes we know you are not breeding, but what happens when you get rid of your snakes?
What happens if you start breeding these hybrids and do get a hole clutch of them. Your telling me that you are sooo curious you would keep all 5-8 hybrids, come on dude be real. I dont care if your gonna sell them or not, eventually they may not end up in your posession, spreading the mud-blood (yeah harry potter!!!!).
