Re: Tank w/belly heat only...Opinions please

When i had my first bp in a tank, after messing with heat lamps and all that stuff, i put a uth under the 20 g tank and reflectix on three sides of the enclosure to reflect the heat back in with duct tape covering all but a 3rd of the screen top, and i have to say i was pretty successful, temps and humidity where great. If you want to give that a shot, you can pick reflectix up at any ace hardware by the foot for a buck. Good luck

I already have the 3 sides covered in foam board, but I was thinking about using this stuff under the tank (covering the bottom beneath the UTH's) to help disperse the heat rather than having it so localized. I know the UTH is supposed to be able to breathe though. So I don't know.

Well thats the way reflectix works it reflects the heat back into the enclosure.
