    Of weiner dogs and cats

Ryan has been wanting a doxie for a long long time and I miss dogs. This is our newest bundle of bratiness. JakJak. 4.5 months old. Well started on his potty training, got a start in obedience and came with nearly every single thing a dog could need in it's first year of life. His old family were good people who did well by him. No complaints there.

The cat... well he enjoys terrorizing my three. Two, Shiloh and Cooper have done well with accepting him when he's not trying to chew on them. Hudson however has a long long long way to go.

Awwwww how cute is he! I love his coat pattern and colors! You tell those cats to just jump up on something really high and he'll be stuck down on the floor unable to bug them at all (and they can give him the typical "stupid dog" cat look )

I love when doxie's run! We had one when I was a kid and when April got racing around the yard and those big ears streamed out behind her, we used to joke that one good wind and the wee dog would be airborne for sure! It was hilarious to watch her go flying right under the bellies of one of the big 100 lb plus Shepherds we had. They'd look sort of confused, like "ahhhh what the heck was that????"

Do watch for nippy behaviours with this breed. They are great little dogs with tons of natural personality but do tend to be a tad on the snappy side. It's best to nip that right in the bud when they are pups. We didn't get on that strongly enough with April when she was a pup. She was a lovely little dog but had to to be watched far more than the big dogs for that sort of thing around strangers.

She looks like she's playing dress up to look like an aussie cattle dog! I love it

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one wondering that!

Jo, he's definately pushing his 'status' right now. I have over four years of dog obedience under my belt, used to teach it in Indiana so it's nothing new and he's learning.
I've been working on him with the cats too, Cooper especially is the most laid back kitty and ends up being the 'abused' far more often then I think he should. They do approach him for play and that's fine but I'm trying to help him learn when to say 'when'.
I've never owned this breed before, I've had them in my classes but that's not quite the same, they are smart but have always reminded me of Malamutes in their stubbornness.
He's about 95% housetrained. I don't think it'll be too hard to get that all finished up. Right now Simple Solutions and Clorox OxyMagic are my friends
However I am thisclose to removing all squeekers from his toys. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH
